Things You'll Need:
- Determination
- To Be Willing To Go Against The Grain
-
Step 1
It’s extremely important that you give yourself a chance to think about YOU. Though it can be extremely tough, it's the only way you'll be able to give yourself the strength to get back on track.
-
Step 2
Don't Call. Being away is extremely painful at first so it may seem like you'll feel better if you just talk to your ex. DON'T DO IT.
Especially if it has only been a short while since the breakup. This is an emotional time for both of you, and when two sets of emotions clash during a conflict, it can do much more damage than good.
Allow yourselves time to *even out* a bit before attempting contact. -
Step 3
Keep good contact and relationships with those you’re closest to, and allow your ex to do the same with the others.
This can be painful, but it’s easiest on everyone because they don’t have to choose who to be loyal to and who to avoid.
It's tough when you have mutual friends, but this will ease things for everyone. -
Step 4
Accept the breakup, even if it wasn't your decision. ESPECIALLY if it wasn't your decision!
By doing so, you show your ex that you are mature, can be independant, and are not needy.
By being active with your friends and going out and meeting people, you create a new confidence for yourself automatically, that will make things much easier to deal with, and keep your mind off of.
