Things You'll Need:
- magazine
- glue
- toothpicks
- string
- small craft beads
- scissors
- ruler
-
Step 1
Take out magazine pages that are colorful and full of pictures. Cut these pages into strips in varying sizes. 1/4" 1/2" 3/4"
-
Step 2
Wrap one strip using the toothpick. Start with the end of the strip with the least interest of color. Place the end of the strip on the toothpick and wrap, when the strip begins to meet place a small amount of glue on the paper to glue it to itself. Wrap until you get to the last little bit and place another dab of glue to seal the bead. Slide it off of the toothpick and repeat with remaining strips.
-
Step 3
Take your sting and alternate threading magazine beads with plastic craft beads. Continue until you get desired length.
At this point you can either tie the necklace with a simple knot or if you are more versed in jewelry making you can add findings on either end for a more professional look.
