Are you annoyed by the blinking green light on the top of your Blackberry mobile device? The purpose of the LED Coverage Indicator is simply to alert you that you have a signal, and the units are shipped from the factory with the default for that option set to "On". Learn how to turn it off in less than one minute!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

    Options and Settings Icons

From the main Home Screen, go to the Options section, which is usually represented with the icon of a wrench. If you don't see it on the desktop, it may be in Settings, which looks like interlocked gears coming out of a file folder.

  2. Step 2

You should see a list of words in Options beginning with "Advanced Options". Scroll down until you have highlighted "Screen/Keyboard" and click on that line.

  3. Step 3

You should see two columns of words in Screen/Keyboard, beginning with "Font Family" flush left, and the settings for those features flush right. Select "LED Coverage Indicator". This may be in the second section down, after a separator line.

  4. Step 4

Click on the word "On", and scroll to move your selection to the word "Off".

  5. Step 5

Retrace your steps back to the Home Screen by hitting the Escape key. Your new option, and your sanity is saved!
