A Healthy Diet and Weight Loss program should include a few basic elements to be successful. Eating often is a key to be successful in your diet and managing your weight. This is how you can eat often and lose weight.

    The keys to a healthy diet and weight loss program.

    Eat 5 to six times a day.
    Eat Less per meal.

    Eat smaller portions five to six times daily to lose weight. Eat breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, evening snack.
    When I think about it this is what I did as a young child. Every morning mom made sure we ate breakfast. At school we had a snack and lunch. When I got home from school there was always a small snack before dinner. The nightly snacks were infamous in my home. The only issue is these snacks were rarely healthy.
    Even as a child this was not a diet but a way of life.

    Eat often to help your digestion. As we eat smaller portions often this helps us digest our food. To properly digest our food quickly means vitamins, minerals and nutrients move into our system versus rotting in our intestines causing diseases.

    Eat often to help your metabolism. The digested foods give us energy and the greatest metabolic benefits of whatever we eat. A good metabolism converts what we eat to energy. This helps us lose weight.

    Eat smaller portions often versus eating a large lunch or a large dinner not only is better for our digestive system and our metabolism but it keeps our stomachs from being to full. The more we eat our stomach grows. The more our stomach grows the more it takes to fill our stomach. The more it takes to fill our stomachs the hungrier we are. The hungrier we are the more we eat. Yes it is a mad, mad circle. You break it by eating smaller portions five to six times a day.

    Eat often and eat healthy. Avoid sugars and refined foods. Read the labels of what you eat. Limit meats, poultry and fish (never thought any one would say poultry and fish) replacing them with grains, seeds, beans and nuts. Eat fresh fruit and raw vegetables.

    Drink Plenty of water before at least a half hour before you eat. This helps your digestive system and fills you so you do not eat too much. Avoid Sodas, Soft Drinks, Pops, Cola etc.

on 1/9/2009 Quickstar you are soo right. Everything I have rea and do is based on dringing water and or tea before I eat. Because I strive to eat 6 times a day it is always before I eat except at night.
