Being a fashion conscious hipster in Europe is a little different than being an American hipster, but just as effortless.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hoodie/Leather Jacket
  • Shades
  • A french accent
  • Cigarettes
  • Lack of sleep
  • Lack of bathing
  1. Step 1

European hipsters tend to be even more unkempt and unruly than American hipsters (hence the term 'Eurotrash'). To begin, your countenance and demeanor must be mildly aggressive, like you are constantly slightly angry at something going on around you.

  2. Step 2

Now make sure no matter how much you do or don't sleep you always have bags under your eyes and your hair is always matted down.

  3. Step 3

Wear a leather jacket/hoodie combo with the hoodie underneath. Wear skinny jeans and shades even when you probably don't need them.

  4. Step 4

Don't act like you are too interested in anything going on around you; like nothing truly excites you.

  5. Step 5

Smoke cigarettes frequently. If this has you concerned about your health you can just mouth inhale them, this is slightly less dangerous.

  6. Step 6

Finally, have a heavy European accent (preferably French) but never speak in anything but this stunted English.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't ever get too excited, this would blow your cover
  • If you don't have leather you can wear denim (that's in right now)
  • Smoking is bad for your health

on 3/9/2009 This wasn't an attack on europeans or 'eurotrash' (although admittedly I probably shouldn't have used the term), it was to poke fun at a worldwide counterculture (hipsters, whether they be european or any other fun) that is altogether unproductive and superficial. Whereas every counter-culture before this current movement has worked to change the way the world perceives 'society' (hippies, beatniks etc.) the current hipster movement is doing very little to help develop the future of our society. It is a counter culture based on irony and sarcasm (therefore the irony and sarcasm in the article becomes ironic itself) and disrespecting or 'making fun of' what is mainstream by slightly altering it/recycling it and branding it "new" (i.e. excessive and unnecessary use of second hand or thrift clothing, excessive recycling of musical and artistic ideas). Sorry if I offended you, I did not inte
