Instructions

    • 1

Decide where in your garden you want to put your sitting bench.
Locate a nice flat piece of thick slate or shale, even granite will work nicely, the choice is yours, get creative!

    • 2

Stack your bricks like this and positioned so that your slate bench will over hang on each side of the brick supports. Figure roughly 1/4 overhang on each side unless your bench is to be longer than enough for 2 people.

    • 3

Place the slate piece over the 2 pillars you made with the bricks and position it how you will want it to remain.

    • 4

Using the spray foam you will apply the foam to the bricks and cover with the river rocks or lava rocks till the entire brick support is covered with expanding foam and rocks.

    • 5

Do the same as above to the second support. Allow 24 hours to dry properly, then Enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your piece of slate, shale or flat rock is longer than enough for 2 people to sit cosy you may want to make a middle pillar of bricks to cover for added support

  • Rock is heavy of course, do not drop it on your foot! I broke my big toe doing this one! Ask for the help of a second person.
