House Break or Potty Train Your New Puppy
House Break or Potty Train Your New Puppy

This step by step instruction are the simplest most efficient and the quickest way to house break a new puppy. As well as the most humane

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dog crate
  • Patience
  • Leash
  • Chew toy or ball
  1. Step 1

With your new family member its a struggle to get them use to your family and the way you do thing around the house or apartment, so it easier to train you then to train the puppy.
You need to use the dog kennel or cage as their new sleeping area, or more important as their new room dogs are den dwellers by nature so the crate or cage is natural to them (throw a towel over it to give it more of a den feel)let the puppy sleep in it during the night (also might want to throw a old shirt in there of the primary trainer so they can smell you during the night and they wont feel alone)
Schedule is the key to success getting the new puppy on a schedule or more important on your schedule

  2. Step 2

Take your puppy outside first thing when you wake up. Use your leash and put a command to the action. Most use go potty, but that's a little embarrassing in public "go potty" "go potty" try "do it" its a 2 syllable type command in which dogs seem to respond to better, if your successful give praise like it was the best thing since sliced bread and give them the play or chew toy don't give them a treat you'll understand this later.

  3. Step 3

Keep your new puppy on a schedule feed them at the same time everyday, then after about 30 minutes or so take them out to "do it". Food cause the dogs mouth to salivate in turn get the digestive system working which cause them to have to go "do it".
An easy way to accomplish this is to put the puppy in the cage or crate 30 min before you feed them. Let them out feed them put them back in the cage (30 or so min) then take them out to "do it" and remember to praise them and let them play with their toy. As a note or after thought please don't use the cage as a punishment that's their room to get away from us and life in general let it be their sanctuary and place of rest. Use the command "GO HOME" for the cage and you'll be amazed how wonderful it works.
Never rub a dogs nose it the mistake that's just mean, did your momma rub your nose in your diaper treat it for what it was a mistake and take them out side if you caught them in the act if time has passed they don't remember, clean it up and try again
