Things You'll Need:
- Sharpening file
- Lubricant oil
- Tarp
-
Step 1
Set up a work area. The best place to sharpen a table saw blade is in a garage or outside. Often times, the metal particles and oil applied during the lubrication process will be messy.
-
Step 2
Remove the blade from the table saw. Since each table saw is a little different, get out your instructions. It's important to follow directions very carefully so you don't get injured.
-
Step 3
Take a file and carefully sharpen the blade. Stroke back and forth across the blade for several minutes to get it as sharp as possible.
-
Step 4
Apply lubricant oil to the saw blade. Since the blade will be very sharp, gently squeeze a small amount of the oil, covering the entire blade. Make sure to put newspaper or a small tarp under the blade to catch any spillage.
-
Step 5
Reattach the table saw blade. After the lubricant oil has been applied, it's time to reattach the blade. Carefully place the blade back into the table saw as the instructions directed.
