Everytime the first day of school comes around, everyone gets nervous, about making a good impression, meeting their teachers and meeting new people. Is my outfit OK? Do I look cool enough? Should I drastically change myself? This article will tell you the uh-huh's and nuh-huh's of your first day.

Pick out a great outfit the night before (something clean preferably) and check that it's weather appropriate. On one of my first days, I wore jeans when it was 90 degrees outside. This can make you uncomfortable and a little grumpy. Make sure the outfit is awesome, but make sure it's you. If you dress in a miniskirt and Ed-Hardy top one day and sweats and a Sea World t-shirt the next, people might get a little freaked out.

Come prepared. I know how boring reading the handbook and schedule and maps can be, but it really helps in the long run. Buy binders and things ahead of time and make sure you have a piece of paper and pencil. Speak up a lot in class and the teachers will love you, I promise. But speak up in the right way. Be prepared for a lot of information on the first day, don't worry, they will repeat it a lot.

Start talking to people right away. I you act like your shy, that's how you will be remembered. People will make friends quickly and you'll be left out. I know this sounds stupid, but really the best way to get friends is to just go up to them and say hi. I met my best friend after falling on top of her. Seek out people who don't know anybody, chances are, they will be pretty desperate too.

Join tons of clubs and teams (that you like of course!) so that you can meet people who have the same interests, then you can go up to them and ask them stuff about the certain club or team and you guys might become friends.

Be friendly. Don't try to impress people, trust me, it doesn't work. Be nice, be awesome and be spontaneous.
