Things You'll Need:
- Base Coat
- Nail Color
- Top Coat
-
Step 1
Gather your base coat, nail color and your top coat. Make sure all of them are thin and run smoothly. Take the cap off and see if each of them drip easily back into the bottle. Nail polish that is too thick will not go on your nail well.
-
Step 2
Apply your base coat first. Brush the brush lightly along the inside of the bottle opening to get the excess off the brush. Then smoothly brush a line from the base of your nail to the tip down the middle of your nail. Then fill in on each side of your nail from base to tip using long strokes and redipping the brush (and getting the excess off) as needed.
-
Step 3
Do the same with your nail color next and then last do the same with your top coat. Make sure you let each layer dry thoroughly before you add a new layer.

on 1/11/2009 Great lesson in polishing nails! My problem is my left hand isn't as steady as my right and my right hand nails always end up looking messy! LOL! Maybe I just need practice. :)
