Powwows are like a party, you get to meet your friends, dance to music, and earn prizes. If they are good they have a happy feeling attached to them. Powwow is a get together for natives all around including South American People who help do the aztec dances. Dancing, drumming and everything beautiful, from delicate fringes to jingling dresses. It is powwow.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • respect
  • Powwow to go to
  1. Step 1

It may be a social event, but it is still important. Do NOT touch the feathers or regalia without permission! The Eagle is sacred to all tribal communities and people. It is said to be the messanger of prayers. Be careful with your drinks when walking around. A buckskin dress may reach up to 3,000, maybe more or it is a family treasure and it could be VERY old if treated well. In other words all regalia takes a long time, and alot of money to make!!

  2. Step 2

Be prepared. Bring snacks and water.Towels if your outside, after a long day of dancing in hot weather it feels great! Wear good clothing, it may feel uncomfortable in short shorts.

  3. Step 3

Respect all of the dancers, and the arena. Intertribals are usually for all to join and so are social round dancing. Enjoy that powwow!
