Step 1
Get a phone number that is dedicated for faxes. eFax lets you do this on their website with a dialog box. Type in your zip code, select a state or choose a toll free selection and the website will generate a list of area codes to choose from. Then, a list of available phone numbers comes up on the screen. Choose the one you like. You can also use an existing number.
-
Step 2
Set up your package. To set up an eFax system, the user will pay a $10-$19.95 set-up fee for the dedicated phone number and a $16.95-$19.95 monthly fee, depending on which package is chosen.
The starter package offers a set limit of 130 faxes that can be sent and 30 that can be received in a month's time. Additional faxes are subject to additional charges per page. Outgoing faxes are $.10 a page and incoming faxes are $.15. Toll-free numbers are charged $.20 for all incoming faxes.
With the Pro package receiving faxes with a local number is free.
Faxes that take longer than 60 seconds to send or receive may be considered two pages by eFax and will be charges as two pages. -
Step 3
Send or receive faxes by sending the fax as an email attachment through you eFax website account. The computer file is then uploaded and sent to the recipient's fax machine.
-
Step 4
Access your faxes from anywhere that has an Internet connection. Received faxes are sent to you as email attachments.
