Things You'll Need:
- A Large Box
- Red, Pink or White Tissue Paper
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
- Old Valentines or a Package of New Valentines about 30.
- Lacy Paper Doilies
- Ribbon or Lace if Preferred
-
Step 1
Gather the group to make the box. Let each one choose their preference of which task they would like to do. Some will design, others cut, some will want to glue.
Set the supplies the chose in front of each person and get them to prepare anything needed like cutting out designs or just planning the entire box theme. -
Step 2
After everyone has agreed on the look, cut a slit in the otp of the box, and place the tissue on the sides and top of the box, glue in place.
The valentines and lace doilies and lace can be added now to the box. Let some of the group work on the bottom and others the top. -
Step 3
Make sure the area the lid needs to sit over doesn't have too thick of added lace or paper for the lid to fit on well. If you prefer don't place the tissue totally to the top of the box. Let all the glue dry well before using or putting on the lid. Don't want the lid glued down permanently.
-
Step 4
Make this box at least a week ahead of Valentines Day if that is the day you are able to use it.
Have the members of the group bring their Valentines and drop them into the box. On the day the box is opened, choose a couple of people to take turns reading off names and passing out the valentines. If you get them all in ahead of that day, count and make sure each person has at least one in the box. -
Step 5
After the box is empty write names on slips of paper for each person and toss into the box. Draw for a winner of the box.
