Things You'll Need:
- Hotel
-
Step 1
If you are visiting New York City in the winter and Mother Nature decides to dump 3 feet of snow on you, this could be your lucky day.
-
Step 2
Most likely you will already have a hotel room in NYC unless you where planning on just spending the day there. But if that's the case plan on finding one which should not be a problem because most reservations will have to be cancelled because of the weather.
-
Step 3
Now you can set off in the empty snow covered streets to the local fire house for a visit and pay respect to the ones who lost their lives during the 911 attack.
-
Step 4
Next take a walk over to 44 st. and try to catch a Broadway play. There is always a great chance to get last minute tickets for a great price because of last minute cancellations.
-
Step 5
Now that you paid your respects, caught a Broadway show for less then full price now it is time to grab something to eat.
-
Step 6
Most likely the bars are full because everyone is waiting for the snow to dissipate. There should not be problem getting a table for dinner because reservation cancellations.
-
Step 7
So after all a snowstorm in NYC can actually be enjoyable event, but take advantage of it quick because the streets do not stay empty for long..

on 2/20/2009 Makes me want to be in NY in the winter...I've only been there in the fall...see, you took what could have been a bummer and made it an adventure..that's why you're a good dad, and firefighter. Thank you for doing a thankless job at times. Bless your heart. 5*

on 1/10/2009 This sounds so cool and romantic. My husband wants to take me there soon for a weekend getaway, maybe we'll get to experience a snowstorm too. Although I get enough snow at home, still sounds fun.
