Not making use of resources at the public library is a wasteful practice. Most public Libraries now have a lot more to offer than you might realize.

  • Library card
  1. Step 1

    Generally speaking unless you live in a really small town or a rural community, the public library has a lot of offer. Books are always available of course. Other great resources are available at the public library for free too!

  2. Step 2

    You can get online for free. You must have a library card to use the library computers. The wireless internet can be used with your laptop for free with out a library card. You can print stuff for a small fee.

  3. Step 3

    The public library also has a great selection of movies both on tape and dud for free check out. Books on tape or audio books are available too and free. For anyone who does not know these are books read aloud. These can be a great study aid if you commute. Musical cd's are available too.

  4. Step 4

    The library also has many magazines available for free. you can read several different daily newspapers for free. You can find encyclopedias, dictionaries, and all kinds of reference (good books on stuff) material at the public library for free.

  5. Step 5

    In the kids section there are bags that have a book and a stuffed animal or puppet you can check out. Computers with kid stuff on them are available. There is usually a kids movie selection. Reading areas are available. Check the schedules and some library reading session are even available to bring your kids to.

  6. Step 6

    The public library is a great resource for every one.
