  1. Step 1

Your smartphone tries to be smarter than you are. In order to conserve energy, and therefore the battery life, it is designed to turn off the backlighting after a predetermined amount of time. This usually works fine except when you're trying to watch a video.

  2. Step 2

First, grab your Blackberry Storm Smartphone and turn the device on. Now go to the MEDIA APPLICATION, and depress the MENU button.

  3. Step 3

You will see a field that is labeled AUTO BACKLIGHTING. To turn off this feature, click to change this field to NO.

  4. Step 4

Next, depress the MENU key and finally, don't forget to click on SAVE. Now grab your favorite video and enjoy viewing it in its entirety without the backlight disappearing on you!
