- 3-4 Carrots
- Bag of Pearl Onions
- Any spices you want to add
- Time

Step 1
If you do not already have one, purchase a slow cooker. This can be purchased at any mass retailer, kitchen store or department store in or around your city. They are usually a reasonable price and once you purchase a slow cooker, you will want to use it all the time. Especially in the winter.
-
Step 2
Vegtables for Slow Cooker Pot RoastWith the slow cooker purchased, it is time to buy a roast, vegtables and spices. The roast can be any shape, cut or size you want. For a pot roast, the best vegtables are usually carrots, potatoes and a onion. If you want, you can use pearl onions instead of a whole onion. With pearl onions, all that needs to be done is take the skin off, clean the onions and place them in the slow cooker.
-
Step 3
Vegtables and Roast Inside Slow CookerNow, with a vegtable peeler, take off the outer skin of the carrots and potatoes. Then, cut them how you want them in the slow cooker. If you want big pieces, this is the best as when the vegtables begin to cook, they will break down faster, more into mush, if the pieces are not big to begin with.
-
Step 4
Now it is time to plug slow cooker into your wall and turn it on to HIGH. I always cook my roasts on high, even if the receipe wants it on LOW. With slow cooker plugged in and turned on, place roast in first,or pearl onions, then all the cut vegatables on top of the roast. Finally, place lid on top the slow cooker and let the meal cook itself all day. When evening comes, you will have a delicious meal for you or the whole family.

on 2/8/2009 I don't think I could live without my crockpot. It's so easy to make large batches of food and then freeze in individual portions. Sounds like a great recipe...especially this time of year!
