Registering a business license is very simple, but does have a fee applied.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • the $20 or $30 fee, and a tax id number
  1. Step 1

First thing is look in your local white pages for the TAX ACCESSORS office. You will need to request the application from them,( you can do it on-line) and fill it out. Once you have the application filled out and the fee( usually about $30.00), call for an appointment with the assessor in your town.

  2. Step 2

You will need to take your Drivers license (for id and proof of address), tax id number #, a business proposal (or plan) and a copy of the lease for the location you wish to do business at, along with your local fee and apply IN PERSON.

  3. Step 3

All they want is your money, your id and a location you want to do business at. If it is in the right neighborhood for the business, they may not even want to see the location.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do your paperwork before going down there. You can get most all of you paper work on-line. Just type in www.YOURTOWN.GOV and that will get you most all the paperwork you need.
  • Have your TAX ID number before you go there. It is a mess otherwise, and they WILL take your money before telling you so,
