How to Spice Up Your Spice Rack
Vintage spice jars and bottles are hanging in their original decorative wood racks in hundreds of kitchens throughout the U.S. I personally prefer the charm of glass bottles and stoppers to the more modern containers used for spices today. Here's a great way to give your old spice jars a facelift and make them new again: Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- vintage spice jars or bottles
- Martha's spice labels
- Wide packing tape
- 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock or self-adhesive paper

Clean off any old label residue from your spice bottle. This would be a good time to also throw out any remaining spices still in the bottle, as they are probably too old to be of use. Thoroughly wash and dry your bottles (preferably overnight), making sure to leave no moisture inside any of the bottles.

Once printed, cut each label out, position and adhere to your clean spice jars. If you are using cardstock, affix with a small piece of double-sided tape. Once you have completed this step, use clear packing tape to create a protective seal for the label.

Refill each bottle with fresh spices! Your vintage spice rack has now been "visually upgraded" and once again adds new found charm to your kitchen.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have any vintage bottles, you can still use the same steps with newly purchased ones. Martha's template includes circular lid labels as well for the more modern bottle types.
