Every year we dig through boxes marked "Christmas lights" and spend hours untangling the lights. Read this guide for easy storage and easy retrieval of Christmas lights.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lots of newspaper
  • Cardboard box or plastic case (whatever you usually store Christmas stuff in)
  1. Step 1

Fold the newspaper in half and then roll it into a cylinder. (You should use several sheets of newspaper so the roll is pretty thick)

  2. Step 2

Unravel the Christmas lights from your tree and/or house.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the Christmas lights around the newspaper cylinder

  4. Step 4

Grab 1 sheet of newspaper and wrap the above Christmas lights like you would a present

  5. Step 5

Tape up the newspaper and mark which lights they are. (For example, if they are multi-colored, mark it "Multi")

  6. Step 6

Gently place the rolled up and marked newspaper bundles into a box and mark the outside of the box with the words "Christmas lights"

  7. Step 7

Ta da! Come next year, the lights will be easy to get to and they will all be in a working condition!
