Create a unique Valentine's Day gift for anyone with this idea. This Valentine's Day gift is a perfect group project for any age or any size group. Creating this Valentine's Day gift book is easy and would be appreciated by anyone receiving it!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 5x7 or 8x10 paper
  • heart clip art
  • computer for printing
  • pens (gel pens look great!)
  • hole punch
  • ribbon
  • heavy paper in same size as above for cover
  1. Step 1
    Create Page
    Create Page

This Valentine's Day gift is designed as a group project. Any size or age group will work. If created as instructed, each person in the group will end up with a gift book. Choose the size you want your books to be (8x10 or 5x7). For each person in the group, create a page containing simply a large heart outline, the person's name and if desired, a small photograph of the person. The photo and the name can be placed inside the heart at the top of it. Keep them small. The remainder of the heart will be used for writing.

  2. Step 2
    Create Cover
    Create Cover

Your Valentine's Day gift book will need a cover. Create a cover of your choosing for the book. The cover should contain a title such as "The What I Love About You Book" and the name of the person to receive the book. Since this is a group project, you will need to print out a book cover with their name on it for each person in the group.

  3. Step 3
    Print Pages
    Print Pages

Printing and organizing supplies for your Valentine's Day book is next. In step one you created a page for each person in your group. Now you will need to print out or make copies of each of those pages. You will need a copy of each person's page for each person in your group. For example, if you are working with a group of 15 people, you will need 15 copies of each person's page. Afterwards, give each person a stack of pages for the class that includes everyone's heart name page except their own.

  4. Step 4
    Write on Pages
    Write on Pages

Create the Valentine's Day gift book pages by having each person in the group write on each page in their stack. The theme of the writing is "What I Love About You." You may need to explain to younger children that this means to write something that you really like about that person and even give them an example. Gel pens look great for this step!

  5. Step 5
    Put Books Together and Deliver!
    Put Books Together and Deliver!

Putting your Valentine's Day gift books together is easy! Collect all the pages from everyone then sort them by making a stack of each name. For example, all the "David" pages are stacked together and so forth. Bind each gift book together by placing a cover created in Step 2 on the top of the "What I Love About You Pages" and if desired, a blank back cover page on the bottom. Punch two holes along the edge of the stack and tie with a pretty ribbon to bind your books. Lastly, give each person in the group their own personalized "What I Love About You" Valentine's Day gift book with wonderful messages from everyone inside.
