Save on Your Grocery Bill & Go Paperless Using AOL Shortcuts.com

If you want to save on your grocery bill in an amazingly high-tech way, look no further than AOL's Shortcuts.com. Though it may sound incredible, Shortcuts.com allows you to electronically download coupons to your grocery store card. That's right - no more paper coupons to clip. In this article, you'll learn how to use Shortcuts.com to instantly save you cash at the grocery store without irritating the cashier and the people behind you with a massive stack of paper coupons. This procedure was tested at a Dallas area Kroger store, and within two hours of downloading the coupon onto a Kroger store card via Shortcuts.com, the discount rang up at the register.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your grocery store card
  • A computer with an internet connection
  1. Step 1

Point your web browser to www.shortcuts.com. The Shortcuts.com home page displays.

  2. Step 2

In the upper right-hand side of the page, click the Register Now button go to go the Shortcuts.com account setup page. Alternatively, you can click the red Start Now button in the middle of your screen.

  3. Step 3

Under My Info and Account Setup, enter your name, zip code, birth date, e-mail, password, and security question and answer.

  4. Step 4

Under Add Savings Cards, click the Select a Store drop-down list and select your grocery store.

  5. Step 5

Under Select Store:, select Card Number. If the retailer uses a different method to identify your card number (such as your telephone number), select Alternate ID.

  6. Step 6

In the Card Number and Confirm Card Number fields, type your store card number or alternate ID.

  7. Step 7

Under Quick Security Check, type the displayed CAPTCHA text in the Security Word field.

  8. Step 8

Click the Register button. The system returns you to the Shortcuts.com homepage.

  9. Step 9

If you see a grocery item you would like to receive a coupon for, click +Add in the lower right-hand corner of the box that contains the item. Or, click any category on the left-hand side of the page under the Find Category Coupons heading to view more coupons. Once you add a coupon, you can head out to the grocery store and hand the cashier your store card for the discount.

  10. Step 10

Notice My Wallet in the upper right corner of the page. My Wallet displays your current number of coupons, the total value of the coupons, and expiration dates.

  11. Step 11

In the top menu bar, click the My Coupons button to go to the My Coupons page.

  12. Step 12

On the My Coupons page, view your active, redeemed, and expired coupons. If you wish to print a copy of your coupons, do it from this page.

Tips & Warnings
