Step 1
If you can remember when you first started playing card games with your friends and family in a home game, 5 card draw was probably one of them. 5 card draw is a very simple poker game that involves very limited betting and only a basic knowledge of poker will suffice. There are many variations to the game but this article will only focus on the basic 5 card draw game. You can play this game on all the major poker rooms so if you haven't played the game, here is a short "how to" about the game.
5 card draw is started by all players posting an ante, and dealing 5 cards down to each player. The person to the left of the dealer then starts the betting and it continues around the table. -
Step 2
After the first round of betting is over, each player has the option to throw away up to 3 cards in their hand in exchange for new cards off the top of the deck, this is the "draw" in 5 card draw. Note: A player may draw 4 cards if he/she shows an Ace.

Step 3
After eveyone draws there is a final round of betting followed by the showdown where the best 5 card hand wins.
