Step 1
Use a shampoo that has a balanced PH and is specifically made for your hair type. If you would like extra shine, wash your hair with cool water instead of hot.
-
Step 2
Wash your hair everyday or every other day as this helps bring natural oils into the hair. Also, you should never brush soaking wet hair, as hair is weaker and more elastic when it's wet so it can break more easily. Instead, use a wide-toothed comb.
-
Step 3
Use instruments that can dry out hair, such as blow dryers, straigtening, and curling irons as little as possible. It is also very good for your hair to brush it from front to back about 50-100 strokes before you go to bed. This increases the natural oils in the hair and gives it added shine, too.

Step 4
Instead of plastic bristle brushes which can cause added damage to hair, use a round or flat brush with natural boar bristles. To treat your split ends, trim your hair at least 1/2 an inch every four to six weeks. Deep conditioning around once every two weeks also helps moisturize and strengthen hair strands.

Step 5
Make sure to stay on a healthy, balanced diet and drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep hair healthy and shiny.
