Turn your Photographs into Coloring Pages

Kids love to color. But wouldn’t it be fun for them to color pictures of their friends, family, pets, and even themselves? It is easy to convert JPG images to coloring pages, which you can easily print out. You can even use your coloring pages to make coloring books for gifts or just for fun. To make coloring pages by using the following steps it takes PhotoShop. If you don’t have PhotoShop and would still like some pages, you can have your images converted to coloring pages for a small fee. Use the images to print out coloring pages or create coloring books. Simply use the link provided in resources to learn how to email your JPGS for quick conversions. But, if you have PhotoShop, you can follow these directions and do it yourself.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with PhotoShop
  1. Step 1

Open the image you would like to convert into a coloring page in your PhotoShop program.

  2. Step 2

Go to Image, Adjustment and Desaturate. This will convert your color image to a black and white.

  3. Step 3

Go to Filter, Sylize and Find Edges. This will add the coloring lines.

  4. Step 4

Go to Image, Adjustment and Brightness/Contrast. This is where you will make the whites whiter, and increase the contrast to make the lines darker.

  5. Step 5

Increase the Brightness and Contrast in the window that pops up after Step 4.

  6. Step 6

Save your image using the Save As, to create a new file. If you use the Save command, you will be copying over your original image.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use PhotoShop to improve your image by removing any unwanted speckles in the final product.
  • Some multi-textured images are not suitable for the conversion.
