psst! Come a little closer...I have something to tell you ..."Every one gets gas and that gas (flatulence) has to escape one way or another"...

With that said, read on to find out how to prevent flatulence.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Peppermints (altoids) - Have you ever thought about the mints that you get in restaurants? Why do they give them to you? They give them to you to help prevent flatulence. Mint helps soothe the tummy and restaurants don't want you to get 'gas' after eating in their restaurant because they fear you won't come back...

Chewing some spearmint gum will also help settle the tummy and prevent the 'gas'

  2. Step 2

Making beans? There are a few things you can do...adding one tablespoon of baking soda when you are cooking the beans will help neutralize the gas in the beans OR add 3 teaspoons of white vinegar to the water you are soaking your beans in and let soak overnight...the acetic acid in the vinegar will dissolve some of the sugars in the beans that tend to produce 'gas'

  3. Step 3

Adding a can of coke to a pot of pinto beans and not only will it help them have a little sweeter taste, but it will also help neutralize the gas.

Tips & Warnings
  • The average person passes gas 8 to 20 times a day (just thought you might want to know)
