How to make good ole' SOUTHERN BISCUITS

These biscuits are so mouth watering your gonna wanna make them every day!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 pkg of yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water
  • 5 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cups of shortening
  • 2 cups butter milk
  • 1/2 stick melted butter
  1. Step 1

    After soaking the yeast mixture in the warm water for a few minutes. Pour the yeast mix in all the mixture above. Slowly add the buttermilk making sure it soaks in all the biscuit mixture.

  2. Step 2

    Roll the dough out onto flour and sprinkle a little flour on top. Knead the dough until it is to your liking. Then flour the rolling pin and roll the dough out to the thickness you prefer or about a 1/2 inch thick. They will rise.

  3. Step 3

    Cut out the biscuits using the top ring of a cup and lay them out on a well greased baking sheet then brush them all with melted butter. Bake the biscuits at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. And they are ready to eat!

  4. Step 4

    ENJOY!!!! These biscuits are very much delicious and you will simply enjoy them every time you bake them!
