Things You'll Need:

- Large Mouth Bass pond
- Reel
- Lures

Step 1
Seek out shaded areas with overhanging trees during the afternoon or morning to find Large Mouth Bass. They hang out in the roots and logs that always clutter these areas. Toss a surface plug into these areas and slowly work it across the shade.
-
Step 2
Find a small feeder stream during the day that empties into a bigger pond known for Large Mouth Bass. These streams are like conveyor belts carrying food right into the bass' mouth. They carry earthworms, grubs and bugs into the pond. Use the plastic worm, spinner or fly in these areas.
-
Step 3
Fish the lily pads, grass beds and drop offs during the day and at night. Especially when the water temperature warms, bass love to hide, ambush and nest in these areas. Plastic worms, live worms and diving minnows are good bets here.
-
Step 4
Watch your fish finder for changes in water temperature and fish only areas above 68 degrees. This is the temperature Large Mouth Bass can tolerate, any colder and their metabolism starts to slow down.
