For someone who has eaten the american diet for most of their life would be wise to prepare for their first fast. Two weeks is the minimum amount of time you will need to prepare.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    During the two week preperation stage you shoud try to eliminate as many meats and dairy from your daily consumption.Doing this will make your fast much more pleasant.

  2. Step 2

    The second stage is psychological hunger. This is an intense desire for food. This usually goes away after about three or four days of not eating anything.

  3. Step 3

    Acidosis, the third stage lasts about one week.This is the stage where the body vigorously throws off acid waste products.Acidosis is usually accompanied by fatigue, blurred vision, and possibly dizziness.At this stage your breathe will smell and your tongue will be coated in a dryish mucus.The urine will be concentrated and smells awful.

  4. Step 4

    The next stage is accelerated healing. Healing proceeds rapidly after the blood chemistry has been stabilized.This is where your body begins to heal itself,tumors begin to disappear,scars start to vanish.

  5. Step 5

    The last stage is breaking the fast.This is the most dangerous part of the fast.If you try to suddenly start eating solid foods again you make damage your body.Your body is not used to food so you have to slowly start to eat again.Start with juice until your digesting it easily.

  • Make sure you take your time when breaking the fast.
