Things You'll Need:
- computer
- colored card stock paper
- tape
- decorative scissors
- popcorn, Skittles, Dum Dums, Riesens, NESTLÉ TREASURES, nuts, cookies, or gummy bears
-
Step 1
Review the sayings below and decide what treat you want to purchase from the grocery store. You might need to go to an arts and craft store for some supplies too.
-
Step 2
The saying that goes with Skittles is: "Every time I look at you my heart SKITTLES."
-
Step 3
For Dum Dum suckers use the saying, "Don't be a Dum Dum, be mine."
-
Step 4
If you want to give them some popcorn, attach the saying, "Poppin' in to ask, will you be my Valentine?"
-
Step 5
For a chocolate treat go with "No RIESEN except to say I love you!"
-
Step 6
There are several different kinds of NESTLÉ TREASURES. They have 12 oz bags of caramel, chocolate creme, dark caramel, and milk chocolate peanut butter. The saying that goes with this treat is "You're a real TREASURE."
-
Step 7
If the recipient of your gift has diabetes and can't have sugar, purchase some nuts. The saying to attach to the nuts is "I'm just NUTS about you!"
-
Step 8
The saying to put with gummy bears is "I think you are BEARY special!"
-
Step 9
You can purchase or make some homemade cookies for this last idea. The saying you attach to some cookies is "You're a good COOKIE!"
-
Step 10
Once you've decided what you want to give out it's time to create the card to go with it. I've written the following steps to go with the Riesen saying. If you chose something different, simply switch out the saying for the one you want and just insert a picture that matches the saying.
-
Step 11
I geared this to someone who's not comfortable with computers so I apologize to all those who are. If you are computer savvy just create the card yourself and skip down to step 17.
-
Step 12
On your computer open up Microsoft Word. Once the blank page is displayed, type No RIESEN except to say I love you!
-
Step 13
If you are going to be giving a lot of these out, put your cursor in front of No. Now on the top toolbar click on format, then click on columns in the drop down menu. Select 2 columns.
-
Step 14
You can put a border around the saying. To do this look at the top toolbar and click on insert, then highlight picture and then click on clipart. I made this card years ago with a different program. Microsoft Word has a pretty heart border, it just doesn't have the arrows.
-
Step 15
Now type border in the search for box and hit go. Click on the border you like. It will insert it where you had your cursor. You won't need to adjust it's width if you already had your page set to columns.
-
Step 16
Now click on the border and it will show up with a box around it. Right click on it and then click on format picture.
-
Step 17
Now click on layout and then select behind text and click ok.
-
Step 18
Highlight your text "No RIESEN except to say I love you!" and choose what font you like and what font size fits best in the column. I found that it worked best with 3 lines: No RIESEN (enter) except to say (enter) then I love you!
-
Step 19
You should center the text and then adjust the border vertically to make it look proportional.
-
Step 20
Highlight the border and your text. Now right click on your mouse and select copy. Place your cursor lower on that column, then right click and select paste. Repeat this till it fills both columns or until you have the amount you need.
-
Step 21
Now you can print your document on whatever color card stock you'd like. Sit at the table to cut each saying out with your edger scissors.
-
Step 22
Take the saying and attach it to the treat with tape. Keep going until you've made the amount of gifts you needed.
