Attach camera to base
Securely attach the Logitech QuickCam IM camera to the base by screwing the bottom screw on the camera into the slot on the base.

Install the software. You will receive instructions from the software installation telling you how to attach the camera to the base and when to connect the Logitech QuickCam IM camera. DO NOT connect the camera to the laptop or PC until the software instructs you.

After completing the instructions for installing the camera, start the software. Click on "Start" in the Windows taskbar. Then click on "Program, Logitech and then Logitech QuickCam".

Choose the instant messenger program you want to use from the list. Some are the options are Yahoo, AOL, and MSN.

Place the camera in a position to allow eye contact. Your purchase should have included a "SmartClip" which can be used to attach the camera securely to a laptop notebook or flat panel monitor. This is better than trying to find a table or something where you have to remain stationary.

Adjust camera's view with the focus ring.
Adjust the camera's focus by turning the focus ring until it is clear.
