Trim and Put on False Eyelashes Easily and Quickly
Trim and Put on False Eyelashes Easily and Quickly

Putting on false eyelashes can be frustrating if you don’t know how to properly apply them. The following steps will help you apply false eyelashes easily and quickly, and where no one will know you are wearing them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • false eyelashes
  • straight edge scissors
  • false eyelash adhesive
  • optional: eyeliner and mascara
  • practice
  1. Step 1

First, purchase the style and color of eye lashes you want to wear. You can purchase eye lashes based on length, color, thickness, thinness, straight, curled, etc., whatever suits your taste.

  2. Step 2
    Straight Edge Scissors
    Straight Edge Scissors

If they are too long in width for your eye, you can shorten them by cutting off a little of the edges on each side with a pair of small straight edged scissors. The video in the "Resource" section of this article will show you how to measure your eye. If you feel that there are too many lashes in each lash, you can use those same scissors to cut out a few of the lashes. Be sure to take your time so you won’t cut the strip on the lash or cut out lashes you don’t want to cut.

  3. Step 3

Your lashes may be suitable to you the way you bought them, so you may decide not to trim them. Whether you trim them or leave them as is, you are now ready to apply them. If you wear eyeliner and mascara put it on first if you want a bolder look. Then, stroke a thin layer of eyelash adhesive across the eyelash strip. Wait a few seconds for the adhesive to get just a little sticky so it will stick to your eyelid better.

  4. Step 4

If you shortened your false lashes make sure you match the correct false lash with the correct eye. With your pointer finger and your thumb, hold the false eyelash and carefully place it on your eyelid, right on top of your eyeliner, being careful not to stick it on your own eyelash. Apply at the outer corner or your eye first. If you don’t wear eyeliner, still place it right above your own eyelash where you would line your eye. Hold it in place just a few seconds. Use a stripped cotton swab stick to get the false lashes as close as possible to your own lash line. Follow the same steps for the other eye.

  5. Step 5

Make sure the adhesive is dry. If you put eyeliner on before you applied the false eyelashes, retouch your eyeliner with your eyeliner pencil to make sure you are coloring over any traces of adhesive. Otherwise, put your eyeliner and mascara on last. Wallah! What beautiful eyes you have!

Tips & Warnings
