A chocolate rimmed glass adds a fun, delicious, and professional flair to your chocolate based drinks and cocktails - like mudslides, chocolate martinis, mochatinis, and more. Using powder or flakes, you can mix and match the underlying base for a variety of creations.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A glass to rim
  • Chocolate syrup
  • 2 small plates
  • 1 heaping tbsp. cocoa powder OR
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa flakes
  1. Step 1

    On one plate squeeze out a half dollar-sized puddle of syrup. On the other put out your flakes or powder. For a one-plate alternative, check out the tip section below. If using powder, spread out the powder to cover an area equal to the rim of the glass. If using flakes, arrange them in a compact line.

  2. Step 2

    Holding the glass at a 45 degree angle, roll the rim through the puddle, coating it evenly.

  3. Step 3

    If using powder, merely turn the glass upside down and dip in the powder. If using flakes, starting at one end, roll the rim to the other side.

  4. Step 4

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to chill your glass first (if a martini), THEN rim, THEN pour.
  • For a clear rim, use simple syrup or run an orange wedge around the rim instead of chocolate.
  • Experiment! Try caramel or strawberry syrups if they complement the liquors.
  • If time/space is limited, use powder. Cover half the plate with syrup, the other half with powder. Turn the glass upside down and twist it through a couple times until the rim is completely covered.
