Groceries can be really expensive, especially if you are shopping for a large family. You can save yourself a lot of money at the grocery store if you plan your meals ahead of time, shop sales, and stock up on the items you use often when they are on sale. A little planning ahead of time can save you a ton of money.

  1. Step 1

    Clip coupons. While it may seem tedious, clipping coupons can save you a lot of money at the grocery store. You can also find printable coupons all over the internet.

  2. Step 2

    Shop sales. Each major grocery store will typically have a weekly sales advertisement, and you should use this as a way to plan you shopping list and save money.

  3. Step 3

    Buy in bulk when something is a good deal. If there is an item that you use frequently and it is a really good deal, stock up on that item. You can save a ton of money at the grocery store if you plan ahead and buy in bulk.

  4. Step 4

    Only purchase items on your list. A lot of unnecessary items are purchased when you do not stick to your list at the grocery store. If you stick to your list, you will save yourself a lot of money.

  5. Step 5

    Buy generics. Some things taste better than generics, but most things have no difference except the price. Generic or store brands will save you a lot of money at the grocery store.
