How to Add a Glass Panel to a Cabinet

In this how to I will tell you how you can add a decorative glass panel to a cabinet door to make it more interesting and stylish.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• reciprocating saw
• glass panels
• pencil (for tracing)
• metal braces
• picture frame molding

1. Remove the door and decide on the placement of your panel.

2. Lay the panel and door on the floor and trace around the panel.

3. Use a reciprocating saw to cut out the area you traced for the panel on the door and carefully remove the panel from the door.

4. Put the decorative panel inside the hole in the door. The panel will be a little smaller than the hole you made.

5. Attach the picture frame molding to the backside of the door with the metal braces. Put one in each corner and one in the middle of each side.

6. At this point, you will need to paint the door if you need to and allow the paint to dry.

7. Put the panel into the opening you made in the door. Your panel should fit snugly now.

8. Use metal braces to hold panel in place attaching them on the backside of the door as you did previously.

9. Your door is done. Reinstall it and admire your work.
