Transfer Money to a Paypal Account
Transfer Money to a Paypal Account

Transferring money to a paypal account is beneficial, especially to those who pay fees per transaction on their account. The netspend prepaid debit card, for instance, charges a $1 fee for each transaction. The debit card can also be used as a checking account. Being able to transfer one lump sum will save you greatly in the long run. Below are the steps to transferring funds to your paypal account.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A PayPal Account
  • A Bank Account
  1. Step 1

To add funds to your paypal account you must have a confirmed bank account linked to it. Check my resources below for a "How to" on confirming a bank account. If you already have a confirmed bank account linked to paypal, continue to the next step.

  2. Step 2

Log into your paypal account and click on the MY Account tab.
A link to Add Funds will appear on the bar below the My Account tab, mouse over the link. A drop down menu will appear. From the menu select Add Funds from a Bank Account.

  3. Step 3

You will be taken to the Electronic Funds Transfer page. On this page you will select the bank account you want to add funds from; you will also put in the amount you wish to transfer. After completing these steps, click on continue.

  4. Step 4

The next page that comes up will be the Add Funds Confirmation. On this page review the details of the transfer, if everything is correct, click on the submit button. Your transfer is now complete. The funds will show up in your paypal account in 3-5 days.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be advised that during the 3-5 day processing period your funds will be in limbo; you cannot use the funds from your bank account and they will not be available in your paypal account right away. Plan accordingly.
