Things You'll Need:
- Roast beef (the main thing)
- A good roasting pan (The one your grandmother always used works great)
- mixed spices
- heavy duty tin foil
-
Step 1
Starting with your oven, Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F which in Celsius is 175 degrees. Place roast in pan with if any fat side up so to let the fat drip downwards to bottom of pan. DO NOT POKE THE ROAST AT ANY TIME TO CHECK TENDERNESS BECAUSE ANY HOLES IN THE ROAST WILL START DRYING THE ROAST UP
-
Step 2
spices to use are up to you but using a Montreal steak spice mix with a little bit of Coarser salt rubbed into the roast works great. But using any sort of spice you like works great too. Place tinfoil on roast for half of the cooking time so as to let the roast cook from the inside out.
For the remaining time remove tinfoil to get a crispy outside of your roast -
Step 3
Depending on roast size a roast will take from 45 min up to 3 hours
starting at 5lb roast 45 min total time for medium rare
Add a additional 15 min for every 5lbs added to the roast
10lbs 60 min = 1 hour
15lbs 90 min = 1 hour 30 min
20lbs 105 min = 1 hour 45 min
