Windows Installer Not Accessible!

There are many times you will need to use the Windows Installer service. You may want to install the latest browser, update your printer driver or have your computer outfitted with the latest desktop publishing software. Installing necessary programs on your computer should be simple and fast. But what happens if you get an error message every time you try to install something? Here is one quick fix you should try before doing anything else.

Step 1

If you are getting an error when installing a program or utility on your computer, your Windows Installer Service may not be running.
Step 2

Select START > RUN

To make sure your Installer Service is running, the first thing you need to do is shut down all programs. Your Desktop should be on the screen.Now you will need to click on your START menu and select the RUN option.
Step 3

net start MSIServer

In the text field, you will need to type the following: net start MSIServer
Step 4

You will be notified on screen that the Windows Installer Service is being started.
Step 5

You can now attempt to install your program, update or driver.
