If you suffer from acid reflux or GERD, you probably don't get much relief from over the counter medication, and prescription medications are expensive and have side effects. Here are a few ways you can treat your acid reflux naturally.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Drink aloe vera juice. You can either buy it prepared at a health food store or prepare it yourself. Aloe is known to cure and heal a variety of ailments, and a lot of people who once suffered from acid reflux swear by aloe vera.

  2. Step 2

Eat almonds. Some people say that eating a handful of almonds each day helps their GERD symptoms.

  3. Step 3

Take probiotics. Acidophilus, taken in capsule form or in prepared yogurts, reestablishes the correct pH of the digestive tract. Because some cases of acid reflux is caused by an overpopulation of "bad" bacteria and a diminished population of "good" bacteria, aciddophilus helps a great many patients.

  4. Step 4

The most popular and successful home remedy for acid reflux seems contrary to common sense. Drinking one teaspoon of organic, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) is said to cure acid reflux from a mild case of heart burn to severe, chronic cases of GERD.
