1. You should address your concerns to your senator. A senator is more likely to respond to someone that they represent.

2. The first step to send your senator email is to locate their email address. There are several sites that have published this information. One is the Senate.gov website. A link to it is included in the resource section. There is also a link compiled by the Conservative USA organization.

3. When you send your senator email you should address them properly. Begin your email with "Dear Senator xxxx" with their name filled in for the xxxx.

4. Address your concerns fully but do not write a book. You are more likely to get a response to a concise email addressing a specific concern.

5. Even thought you are sending your senator email you should always include your full name, address and phone number. His office may wish to contact you outside of email or they may wish to verify that you are a constituent from their state.
