Almost done! Just stir.
Almost done! Just stir.

Want to impress your friends or simply want a better tasting Kahlua that costs less too! Then read on because I will tell you how to make a magnificent tasting Kahlua simply and quickly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Liquid Measuring cups
  • Vokda
  • Coffee
  • Water
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Bottle(s)
  1. Step 1

First make sure you have everything out and ready. Then make some really strong coffee. If you have a good espresso maker, then start making some shots instead of coffee. You will need two cups total (not coffee cups, a full 16 oz.). Set aside and let cool.

  2. Step 2

Put 2 cups of water and 3 cups of sugar into a saucepan and heat on medium until bubbles appear, don't let it boil. Just turn down the temperature and let it simmer a few minutes and then take it off the heat and let it cool.

  3. Step 3

Let the coffee and sugar syrup cool, you can mix them together at anytime, but they will cool faster apart.

  4. Step 4

Add coffee and sugar syrup together and then add 3 cups of vokda. Also add 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract (don't be cheap, use the real stuff!). Stir and then it is time to enjoy.

  5. Step 5

You can drink it straight up or use it in any recipe that calls for Kahlua like a mudslide.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use a real vanilla bean instead of extract, but you must wait three months before the flavor is fully extracted.
  • Play around with the proportions to suit you individual taste.
  • Use Rum to make Tia Maria.
  • As with any alcohol please use caution and don't drink and drive.
