Utah temples are owned & operated by Latter-day Saints also known as Mormons. While the inside of the temple is open only to members of the church, it's still possible to visit a temple & learn more about it's construction & faith.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate a temple. Check the resource section for a map of temples all over the world. There are over 120 temples, one of the most well known temples is The Salt Lake City temple on Temple Square. Temple Square is claimed to have more visitors than the Grand Canyon.

  2. Step 2

If you're visiting Temple Square stop by the tabernacle & see if you can catch a practice of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir or at least get a tour of the building. The choir usually practices on Thursday evening from 8-9:30 pm

  3. Step 3

Take a tour. The bigger temples will offer tours around the grounds. Watch for missionaries in suits or dresses with black name tags who can show you around & answer any questions.

  4. Step 4

Check out the visitors center. Most temples have a visitors center that anyone can enter to learn more.

  5. Step 5

Attend an open house. Shortly after a temple is built, it is open for a few days for the public to walk through.

  6. Step 6

Mormons have very strict standards about clothing & swearing. While not required, if you dress modestly & watch your language on temple grounds you may feel more comfortable.
