Before getting started, take some time to do some research online to find the types of jeans that you would like to make. There are MANY websites offering hundreds of ideas on what you would like to create. Doing a simple search of 'destroyed jeans' will bring many options to get started. When you find the jeans you want to make, right click on the picture and save it to your desktop. This way you will have the images stored to go back to later.

If you are going for the 'holes with strings' look, you can easily do this by slicing horizontal slits, or simly cutting out small holes. That great looking fraying will happen after a few washes.

If you are creating a look with bleach, such as splattered or poured on look, using white paint is a much better option. White paint creates the look without damaging the material. To get the bleached look, apply the paint and wait about 5 minutes, then gently rinse the paint away and throw the jeans into the washing machine. If the paint is too light, repeat the steps again, until you achieve the results you'd like.

As mentioned before, your search for the destroyed look you like is the first (and usually the longest) part of this process. Just remember that destroyed jeans only look better over time, so be patient, or if you are impatient, just wash and dry the jeans 2-3 times for the perfect look.
