In this article you will learn how to create a black and white digital photo with only certain items of color using Adobe Photoshop Software.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Digital Photo
  • Adobe Photoshop Software
  • Patience
  1. Step 1

Select a digital photo. One with a Large subject and an item with bright brilliant color works best.

  2. Step 2

Open Photoshop software and open the digital photo file in the program.

  3. Step 3

Using CONTROL,ALT and J at the same time create a new layer on your photo. To make the layer black and white hit CONTROL, ALT, Shift and U at the same time.

  4. Step 4

Now you are ready to add color in. What you are going to do is erase the black and white layer to allow the color you want to show through. Go to Layer, select Layer Mask, and then select Reveal All.

  5. Step 5

Now Select your Brush tool and choose an appropriate size. Zoom into the part of the photo you want to be colored and using the brush the color will appear.
