Unfortunately in the world of today between the demands of work, college, family and more can pull people from all directions causing them to feel as if they are spreading themselves too thin. The good news is there are many ways to reduce and eliminate stress altogether from life which will help to improve overall health of an individual.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Start writing in a journal by writing out all that is on your mind. This will help to get everything out and can be looked at for further reflection and analysis. Journaling is a healthy way of relieving stress and getting it all out of your system. Pick a time each day that is your special “me” to journal. Keep the journal near your bed so that you can write down any additional thoughts that come about in the middle of the night.

  2. Step 2

    Add fitness back into your life through exercise at least 30 minutes for several times a week. The exercise will help to release endorphins in the body which calms and relaxes the body. It will also help to maintain a health weight and keep the body in motion through movement. Find a fun type of exercise such as dancing, or taking the dog out for a walk.

  3. Step 3

    Change the way you respond to stressful situations such as trying deep breathing relaxation techniques for a minute or two to help calm you down and relieve stress. Think of positive elements such as the beach or a garden to help bring a sense of serene and tranquility.

  4. Step 4

    Go on a mini vacation for several hours to even several days. Keep in mind a vacation does not need to be expensive or even leave your home. Take time out to get away and do something enjoyable such as spending time with family and friends or even by yourself. Read a book, watch a movie, go for a hike, go to a museum, etc.

  5. Step 5

    Consult further with your physician for a regular routine check-up. There is a possibility of other health problems that may have arisen and your physician will be able to assist in controlling them.
