Reuse Old Newspapers

Do you have a stack of old newspapers just waiting to be recycled? If so, then consider these newspapers for some alternative uses.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  1. Step 1

Take an old newspaper and wrap a winter tomato. Just leave it on the counter, and the newspaper will help to draw out the moisture. It will soften the fruit for a great taste.

  2. Step 2

Use an old newspaper for cleaning windows and mirrors. They work great for removing streaks and don't leave streaks like paper towels.

  3. Step 3

Crinkle up some old newspapers and stuff it inside your wet winter boots. The newspaper will absorb the excess moisture and help the shoe keep it's shape.

  4. Step 4

Old newspapers are great sources of fire starters in your fireplace. Roll the newspaper diagonally in a long tube. This shape will create a bigger spark.

  5. Step 5

Wrap your wool sweaters and blankets in tissue paper and then in a old newspaper before putting them away. It is a natural way to keep the moths away.

on 1/5/2009 I've used it for the boot trick, washing windows, and starting fires. I've never heard that for tomatoes. To recycle, you can also use old newspaper for mulch, but only the non glossy pages. Thanks for the tips!
