In this guide you will learn how to upload and view HD video using Youtube

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Youtube Account
  • HD Video File
  1. Step 1
    Sign In
    Sign In

    First go to Youtube.com and sign in (if you do not have an account, sign up now)

  2. Step 2
    Upload Video
    Upload Video

    Once you are signed in, put your mouse over "Upload" and click on "Video File"

  3. Step 3
    Browse for the Video File
    Browse for the Video File

    A new page will load. Click "Browse" and locate and select the HD video file

  4. Step 4

    Once the file is selected click the "Upload Video" button

  5. Step 5

    The new page will load and the video file will now begin to upload. This may take some time. You can also edit the title, description and tags for the video file. Once the upload is complete click "Save Changes"

  6. Step 6

    Now that your video is uploaded, put your mouse over your username at the top of the screen and click on "My Videos"

  7. Step 7
    Watch in HD
    Watch in HD

    Click on your newly uploaded video. If youtube recognizes your video as HD there will be an option to watch it in HD. If the option is there, click on "watch in HD"

Tips & Warnings
  • The resolution for HD video file is 1290 x 720
  • Do not upload videos against the terms and conditions of Youtube.com
  • Youtube.com still has not finalized HD support. Even if you upload a HD video file, Youtube may not support it
  • HD video files can be large, it may take quite some time to upload
