How to Build a Cover Letter to introduce yourself to an employer

The cover letter is the letter you are going to send a long with your resume when you apply for a job. It should introduce yourself to a prospective employer and state the job for which you are applying. Try the following steps to build it.

      In the top left corner, put your complete address, phone number, email and date. A cover letter should be addressed to the person in charge of the department with the vacancy. It may also be addressed to the human resources representative. You should use the person's name, spelled correctly.

In the second paragraph, highlight your training, skills, and experiences that relate to the job. Refer the reader to your resume for additional information. In the third paragraph, request an interview and indicate when you are available.
