Deliver an Effective Presentation
Deliver an Effective Presentation

Four steps to delivering an effective presentation.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time!
  1. Step 1

Know your material- It’s easy to present information to any size group if you're knowledgeable on the subject or material that is being discussed. Before your BIG day anticipate questions, verify your answers and research updates and/or changes.

  2. Step 2

Create a plan- Having a plan or roadmap for the presentation is essential. There are many ways to do this-I use my PowerPoint presentation and print in out on notes view. This view allows me to write notes next to the slides that I’m discussing.

  3. Step 3

Remember key words- Since all presentations don’t include slides; I like to remember key words. I normally don’t like to remember more than 10-15 words. These words will naturally create a roadmap for you.

  4. Step 4

Rehearse- I can’t emphasis this enough. The amount of time you spend rehearsing your presentation will determine your success or failure. I will rehearse a presentation a minimum of 12 times before delivering it to a group.

    a. Read your presentation 3-4 times
    b. Practice alone, 3-4 times
    c. Practice in front of a group 3-4 times
    d. Do a “Dress Rehearsal”
