This wonderful treat is a great alternative to ice cream cones for the winter time! It's fun to look at and even more fun to eat.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Icecream cones
  • cake mix
  • icing
  • optional-melted chocolate
  1. Step 1

Bake your cupcakes as usual following the directions on the box, you could also just bake it as a normal cake, it doesn not really matter the shape.

  2. Step 2

OnCe your cake is done cooking and completely cooled down, pull out your cones.

  3. Step 3

Start pulling apart the cake and stuffing it down into the cone until it is full of cake.

  4. Step 4

Now take your icing and cover the top (I would recommend the spray cans of icing). To give the appearance of ice cream do a swirl and shape like a hill (or ice cream cone).

  5. Step 5

Add sprinkles or any other toppings.

  6. Step 6

You may want to use flat bottom ice cream cones, b/c the cone shaped one (pictured) are hard to store because if you lay them down you mess up the icing! If you have the flat bottom cones you can easily sit them up (if you didn't over fill them with icing)

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a great recipe for kid parties, have them make an assembly line and let them make their own cupcake cones!
  • As a bonus you can use your melted chocolate and either poor some in the bottom of the cone or dip the edge of the cone in the chocolate!
